The Juniper trees winding around Sedona are stunning. The resilience and adaptability they represent. Twisting out of the red earth, a beautiful and bewitching staple of the landscape, their gnarled trunks and branches twisting like ancient sculptures shaped by the sun, wind and time. Shaped by the elements, the branches writhe in every direction, bearing the scars of resilience against the desert’s harsh seasons. Their twisted limbs stretch toward the sky, some bending at impossible angles, as if they’re reaching out to grasp the red rock cliffs or touch the desert wind. Despite their rugged appearance, the trees are vibrantly alive. The air around them often carries a faint, aromatic scent—a mix of sharp, clean pine and a spicy, resinous quality that enhances the sense of rugged beauty in the desert landscape. Sentinels of the desert, standing firm and graceful, embodying both the harshness and delicate beauty of the Sedona wilderness.

Once my marriage was over and I was in relationship with myself only for the first time in over a decade, I remembered that that relationship was the most important, and the core of it all – the foundation of health, happiness and truth. I wanted to commit to that. To my Self. To taking care of her first, to prioritizing her, honoring her, listening to her, thinking of her future and everything that she came here to do in this life. To allowing her to create, to bringing her visions to life, to following her instinct and guidance. To filling my vase so full that it constantly spills over into the lives of those I love around me.

After being gifted with the indescribable experience of being part of the military cohort at Dreamforce 2019, I wanted to give back to this community in a meaningful way, to somehow convey my gratitude for all of this love and support and awesomeness. One of the many things I love about Trailhead is the obvious nature-loving going on, since my other jam happens to be painting all the nature! So what better way to show my love than through a piece of artwork?
Inspired by our beloved Trailhead, I give you “Gratitude”. 100% of the profits from every sale of the print of this piece will benefit Merivis, a non-profit, volunteer-driven veterans’ service organization that focuses exclusively on preparing veterans for a career in Salesforce technology, through training, mentorship, and job-readiness guidance. We’ve all got our own stories, and our own mountains behind us as well as ahead of us. Contributing to Merivis makes you a part of someone else’s story, and that creates ripples that have no limit.
