    Healing from emotional trauma is slow and unpredictable, with layers you don’t know exist until you’re in them. I’m still broken, the wounds are still raw. But I think I’ve got the bleeding under control now. I will still occasionally slip. Sometimes something triggers a sequence of ugly and painful thoughts and I fall down a rage spiral for a few hours. But I know enough now to recognize it and stop the momentum before it gets too dark and becomes harder to pull myself out.
